PROJECTS

Delphi

Transmedia Performance

What role do myths play today? Which mythological narratives determine our perception of reality? We approach these questions through artistic research by juxtaposing rave aesthetics with the myth of the Oracle of Delphi. Our performance is a ritual re-enactment of the Delphi myth through the medium of electronic and digital art.

Artists: Catherine Spet, Milena Nowak, Mara Koppitsch, Haruki Noda, Nicolás Henao Bonnet

Klangkunst zum Angreifen

Interactive Exhibition

Sound art you can touch - an interactive and participatory exhibition with sound installations that invited visitors to actively participate. We exhibited interactive sound installations that invite visitors to try out and experiment with sound, without any prior knowledge or education.

Artists: Je.Jesch, Markus Liszt, Milena Nowak, Haruki Noda, Çağdaş Çeçen | Supported by Stadt Wien

Totemic Interlacing

Transmedia Performance

Three artists spent 5 days at Hohe Wand exploring the relationship between humans, technology and nature. We strive to build a creative bridge between nature and technology by capturing the beauty and diversity of nature through a transdisciplinary approach.

Artists: Milena Nowak, Haruki Noda, Nicolás Henao Bonnet | Supported by Stadt Wien and Bezirk Währing

Ecce Homo

Transmedia Performance

Friedrich Nietzsche had a promising career as a scholar ahead of him: at only 24 years of age, he became a professor of philology in Basel. But a mysterious illness forced him to resign from his professorship. He retreated to the mountains in the hope of recovering. There he wrote some of the most important, but also most controversial, philosophical works of the 19th century. But his works remained unread, his thoughts unheard. His health deteriorated. Increasing exhaustion, the resulting loneliness and neglect destroyed his mind. Disappointment and despair gnawed at his self. We show Nietzsche in these last moments before he fell silent, losing himself in madness. Our performance brings this downfall to life. We interpret Nietzsche's last texts using the latest artistic and technical means: intense surround sound and immersive projections complement the actors' performances.

ABOUT

×

ExMachinisMusicae is an association founded in 2024 with the aim of promoting transdisciplinary, transcultural and transmedial art.

The association's statutes expressly state that this is to be achieved through the implementation of experimental practices, collective forms of work and egalitarian approaches characterised by inclusion, equality and democratic co-determination.

Since autumn 2024, we have also been running a communal studio in Rosenberg, which is increasingly becoming a place for people to meet and engage in joint artistic experimentation.

JAM SESSIONS

×

Eleusínia Mystéria

bring your instruments, gadgets and toys!

play | connect | dream together.

We have been organizing this jam session format for a year now, every last Wednesday of the month.

The sessions are open to all styles and artistic disciplines.

Musicians meet visual artists meet performance artists.

Lay artists meet full-time artists, amateurs meet those who have made art their profession.

We believe in the emancipatory potential of free improvisation.

We design the space in such a way that it playfully enables boundaries to be crossed.

Boundaries between audience and performers, active and passive participants, between disciplines.

We offer: a 9-channel Ambisonics sound system, 3 projectors, comfortable seating and reclining options, a small but excellent bar.

When: every last wednesday of the month, 20:00 - 22:00

Where: Am Rosenberg 1/3/R01, 1130 Wien

Cost: Free and open to all

No prior experience necessary. Bring your curiosity and creative energy!
